Can't Make It to The Emergency Lobby and Rally Days?

Then please take the time to CALL your legislator and tell them to stop Governor Walker from TAKING AWAY YOUR BARGAINING RIGHTS...

  1. As a dyed-in-the-wool dues paying member of this union, I applaud and thank the leadership for their continuing effords to stop this juggernaut gubernatiorial administration. I for one, realize that the leadership cannot however, do all the heavy lifting. The Union leadership is not unlike Walker himself-he needs the legislature to deliver the "dagger" (sorry Packers). The union leadership requires the union membership to deflect the dagger. In both cases, the leadership orchestrates the effort. We as union members must do our part by demonstrating our unmistakable support for their efforts.

Members; Call or email your legislators. Attend a rally. Don't be the deer in the headlights. Do something, or when it comes to employment, you'll be doing nothing.

  2. Unions.....you guys are making a big mistake, why are you guys making the situation worse than what it is? Do you really think you'll make a difference? The deck is stacked in favor of the majority.

  3. Anonymous,
You spit the word "unions" out of your mouth like it leaves a bad taste. But in reality, any union, whether serving the public or private sector, has had the effect of raising the bar for all services delivered.

Unions are not in the business of creating problems. They have eased many existing problems related to the workplace which has a trickle down effect all the way to the house and neighborhood you ive in.

As I see it, there are two very distinct issues at the forefront; 1. The state budget deficit. 2. The very existance of unions.

I cannot speak for "the union" though I am a member. I can say that I am ready to make more sacrifices through paying more for my benefits. Concessions. Whatever it takes. That is a no-brainer. But what do I ask, is to gain by this full frontal assault on the union?

  4. I agree, unions need to stand together come what may. I can't believe this, wisconsin has had a pround tradition of unions, it's essentially an important cultural and historical part of our state. To have the national guard ready is just way too radical, besides I was recently reading a local milwaukee magazine that the national guard's head is under investigation?

What's next, take away all collective bargaining from employees nation wide? A full assault on all unions in this country? What other things are we not aware of that are going to happen? As a union member, I see things going down hill and it's quite upsetting.
