Story - Strong Union Message in State AFL-CIO Mail
Not that a "STRONG" message needs to be said to Union voters, but on Tuesday, August 9th, ALL Union Voters in the six republican recall districts will undoubtedly do their part and VOTE. VOTE FOR CHANGE in the Wisconsin State Senate. Flip the state senate to democratic control and Scott Walker's Agenda will be stopped or at the very least, greatly disrupted.

WisPolitics.com: 2011 WISCONSIN SENATE RECALLS
At the Wisconsin State Fair, Scott Walker stated he was confident that voters would make the right decisions once they are given the facts. If it is the Walker Administration giving the facts then the question would be, "WHERE IS THE TRUTH?" The TRUTH lies within CHANGE!

Colbert Report: Wisconsin's Senator Recall Election
This video of the Steven Colbert Report is amuzing, but sadly based on the true facts of how Republicans and their money machines are doing all sorts of FALSE actions to ensure that Democratic voters fail to vote properly or even on the correct day.

Senator says Walker 'decoyed' him into missing chance to offer amendment - JSOnline
This news story will certainly raise your anger level. For all of the Wisconsinites who have fallen victim to the tactics of Scott Walker, this news story gives you a vision through the eyes of one of their own, a Republican Senator, who apparently saw the stripping of collective bargaining from public employees as UNFAIR and NOT RIGHT.
To the best of SEPAC's knowledge, Senator Dale Schultz made no attempt or conspired with any labor leaders to throw himself into the world of WALKER THREATS and shunning by some of his party's colleagues, but rather he chose to STAND UP and say to his caucus, THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT THING TO DO.
The writer of the news story writes that Walker and Huebsch said basically nothing, but stated they chose to "LISTEN". Since when does SCOTT WALKER be present in a room to have a conversation and NOT SAY ANYTHING? SEPAC would wager, NEVER! People who strive for and seize POWER CANNOT and DO NOT sit back and relinquish control of the conversation.
SEPAC has to agree with Senator Dale Schultz's thought, that the meeting was called for and was away from the hustle and bustle of the ongoing legislative activity so to interfere with Senator Schultz's ongoing dialogue with some of his caucus members and to advance the legislative action on the anti-collective bargaining bill beyond the "amendable" stage before Senator Schultz could submit his amendment. WALKER and HUEBSCH in SEPAC's opinion clearly created an environment that Senator Schultz seized on, to discuss his amendment with two of the MOST POWERFUL brokers in the present Wisconsin State Government only to discover they created a FALSE environment of possibility for Senator Schultz.
As the people of Wisconsin have been saying over and over, SHAME!

Capitol balloon popper charged with disorderly conduct while armed
This investigation is a bit smelly. Just from the details provided in the news story it appears that charges of assault and impersonating a police officer have been dismissed.
This state manager also states he "snapped". This would seem to me that the level to which he "snapped" should be of grave concern to his superiors and should cause serious concern on their part as to whether they can provide for a "safe" work environment for employees and visitors if they return this state manager back to his duties.

State declines to request or back $9 million in health grants - JSOnline
"GRANTS", not loans, no need to payback, "GRANTS" and the State of Wisconsin continues to show the attitude, "NO THANKS", we will get that money from the backs of our middle and lower income working families, if we want it at all. Koch Joins Wellpoint to Help Fight Wisconsin Recalls in Battle With Labor - Bloomberg
Here is yet another peice of information for you, if you already did not know, Wellpoint is a pharmacy benefits manager for many of the state employee health insurances. As Wellpoint decides how much you will pay for your medication or whether or not "THEY" think you should have the medication even though a licensed and practicing medical professional may have prescribed the medication, it is most likely based on their needs for "political" contributions.
It is just wrong that in the United States of America we develop and maintain a system that "PROFITS" from people's illnesses and injuries.

Tea Party groups see Medicare overhaul chance | Reuters
We need to protect our parents, in some cases and more than likely our grand parents from these selfish Tea Baggers who wish to take away Medicare and even Social Security entitlement programs. Maybe if the Tea Baggers would work with Democrats in raising the cap on social security income then everyone would be paying their fair share rather than bulk of the cost being passed down to middle and lower income working families.
It will not be fun, but for many of us we should attend town hall meetings that may be held in our community and communicate that we want Medicare and Social Security left alone or if they are to be adjusted, then adjust the cap on income that we are taxed on.

John Nichols: Targeting Jorgensen and Jefferson County
This is a recommended reading from AFSCME Local 758 President and WSEU Treasurer Ken Weaver.
The Wisconsin Republicans continue to redesign everything in order to grab some serious power control for potentially, years to come. They are extensivelt changing legislative district boundaries and they are changing a great number of Wisconsin voting laws to favor their needs.
As President Weaver encourages, please pay attention to this issue and in actuality, pay attention to every action of the Wisconsin Republicans. They are not asking their constituents what they think and they are hoping that voters are just sleeping through the summer.

WisPolitics.com: Rep. Spanbauer: Introduces constitutional amendment to make county elections nonpartisan
Rep. Dick Spanbauer has introduced a bill that finally may have "bipartisan" support. Many of us reading this post have probably asked ourselves and others, in past elections, why is the Office of Sheriff partisan? In a county race for Sheriff, that race in many cases is the hottest draw, but under present law, voters in a "primary" election had to vote on one side of the partisan ticket or the other.
In a race for Sheriff in one unnamed county here in Wisconsin a Sheriff Candidate ran as a unanamed partisan candidate during one election and lost. The next election this same Sheriff Candidate ran as a different unnamed partisan candidate and won. This particular political election begged the question; were the voters voting for a "partisan" candidate or a "qualified" candidate? This bill, listed as AJR51, if passed by both houses of the Wisconsin Legislature and then signed into law by the Governor should finally allow county voters to elect the "most and best" qualified sheriff's candidate.
However, past history has shown that "Republican" Sheriff Candidates bring voters over to the Republican side of the "primary" ticket and in some cases, the general election as well. So now will come the real battle, will today's present Wisconsin Republicans, aside from Rep. Dick Spanbauer, be able to let go of the sheriff's races sometimes helping them in their vote gathering?
Sheriff Candidate's must run on how they will enforce the laws and protect their communities within their jurisdiction and communicate their experience, knowledge, training and education to support their ability to be a sheriff. They should not be compelled to have to declare that they are of a "partisan political party" just to get votes, when in fact their personal values may be that of another partisan political party, as it is so widely speculated in Milwaukee County.
Lets hope that this bill, AJR51, gets the proper and fair attention and support that it needs.

If the scenario was that Sen. Alberta Darling had al these voters in her senate district going door-t0-door praising her efforts as a State Senator we would not be hearing a peep from her. Unfortunately for Sen. Darling, voters are upset with her shunning of the middle and lower income people and the huge disrespect she gives to the teachers of the public school district's that she represents.
Live with it Sen. As many of you may have heard, there was a fire in the building complex which housed the We Are Wisconsin headquarters in La Crosse.
The office was completely destroyed, but no one was hurt.
The exceptional staff reacted quickly to ensure everyone's safety, then managed to save the GOTV walk packets and maps, then managed to still launch their canvasses for the day and knock on over 800 doors.
However, this incident has hampered their ability to some degree to slot volunteers in for GOTV shifts, so please continue to encourage your fellow union members and volunteers to sign up for GOTV shifts since the staff on the ground will be momentarily distracted as they deal with starting up a new office.
Thank you!

'TANTRUM POLITICS'
'We'll be throwing the rascals out'
I'd like to respond to several points in community columnist Jack Bruss' "Resorting to tantrum politics in Wisconsin" column (Perspectives, July 26).
The 14 Democratic senators didn't "run away." They left in order to stall the Republicans bent on ramming through their budget-repair bill before its union-stripping, education-gutting provisions could be widely publicized. The subsequent protests by tens of thousands of outraged citizens was grass-roots democracy at its best. This was the kind of activism that ended the Vietnam War, fueled by the same sort of democratic fervor that is sweeping dictators out of the Middle East. To call the protests "tantrums" is insulting. Standing up for one's beliefs isn't selfish or childish. On the contrary, it takes courage, discipline and determination.
It's also untrue that Gov. Scott Walker's opponents haven't presented their side of the issue. Anyone who reads newspapers or watches televised news couldn't possibly have missed the many legislators and middle-class working people speaking out against the Republican efforts to end programs for the middle class while giving breaks to the wealthy.
Bruss says the way to change the course of politics is by voting. Really? So far Republicans have done everything possible to make it more difficult to vote: passing a pointless and expensive voter ID law, closing driver's license offices where photo IDs may be obtained and gerrymandering political districts - blatant attempts to ensure that fewer Democrats are elected.
Nevertheless, those obstacles aren't going to stop motivated voters who detest Walker's politics. We'll be out in force on Aug. 9.
We won't be throwing tantrums. We'll be throwing the rascals out.

Walker Gives OK To $500K For Private Legal Fees | Ashland Current
According to sworn testimony before Congress, Scott Walker said his stripping of collective bargaining from most of Wisconsin's public employees was not about the money. However, he feels the need to spend one-half million dollars defending his action. That is the anticipated cost to date. This legal fight is far from over.
One has to wonder why a Governor does not use his legal team from the Attorney General's office. They have been used in the past by Governor's such as when the Wisconsin State Troopers' sued the State of Wisconsin (Employer) for compensation of thousands of hours of work they were not paid for because the State of Wisconsin, Representetd by the Governor, said they did not deserve that right to compensation. Oh, by the way, the Troopers' won that law suit because, like this Governor, bad decisions were being made against the employees.
Do you wonder why it is that Scott Walker wants or needs "private" legal representation? Is it that his Attorney General does not agree with him in his actions? Is it that Scott Walker has no confidence in his Attorney General or his team of subordinate attorneys? I guess we may never know the truth because like the National Organization of PolitiFact recently researched and discovered, Scott Walker was found to not be telling the truth in 13 statements of the 13 statements that they reviewed.

» Shame! AFSCME Protesters Target Company that Hires the Developmentally Disabled - Big Government
SHAME on BLOGGER BRETT HEALY... He fails to write that the employees who work at this company were instructed by their employer to STAY HOME on that day, without pay, even though Scott Walker's appearance was not scheduled until after normal business hours.
He also continues the lie that AFSCME (Unions) protested the Special Olympics event earlier in the year. The real fact of that claim is that AFSCME members (law enforcement officers, correctional officers and probation & parole agents) were present to RUN ON BEHALF OF THE SPECIAL OLYMPIANS on that day and that AFSCME members were not part of the protest of Scott Walker at that event.

In recall campaigns, union is a dirty word — on both sides
Alot of spending in these recall elections is a correct statement from this news article. Working Families are trying to WIN BACK the Wisconsin they new last year and NOT GO FORWARD in the Wisconsin that Scott Walker and the Republican Majority are designing TODAY.
While the "kickoff" to RECALL ELECTIONS was initiated by the attack on collective bargaining in February and March of 2011 the 2011-2013 State Biennial Budget introduced by Walker and then rapidly, behind closed doors and at late hours of the night passed by the Republican Majority of both houses, without a conference committee being needed is what is fueling the continued anger of the Wisconsin Majority by the voters demanding MORE THAN EVER the need to RECALL REPUBLICAN SENATORS.
Walker and his cronie leadership of Scott and Jeff Fitzgerald drafted and passed a budget that stole from the middle and lower class incomes and protected and provided for the corporations and the wealthy. This is only July, the seizing of rule-making authority for the Governor, the stripping of collective bargaining rights for the vast majority of public employees, the "so desparately needed budget repair bill (tongue-in-cheek), the 2011-2013 state biennial budget that attacked middle and lower income class people, people in need of medicaid assistance, our seniors, the creation of a Voter ID law, the present changing of voter laws before the RECALL of SCOTT WALKER and the list will go on is a show of a POWER GRAB by the Republican Majority before the Wisconsin Voters say through the message of RECALLS, that the Wisconsin Republican Majority is bad for Wisconsin and ENOUGH is ENOUGH!
Scott Walker himself has predicted that the Wisconsin Senate will flip back to democratic control, but WE CANNOT take even his prediction as the truth, remember who is making that statement... WE MUST ALL CONTINUE TO DO WHAT WE CAN TO HELP RECLAIM THE WISCONSIN SENATE FOR WISCONSIN FAMILIES. For those who live in the recall districts, YOU NEED TO GET OUT & VOTE ON RECALL ELECTION DAY!
The below link to the news article has some good and accurate information and some "not-so-accurate" information. Still, the article is worth the reading.

AFSCME Council 24 members CAN REJOIN THE FIGHT "HERE".
We must continue THE FIGHT to WIN BACK Wisconsin from the ugly and evil likes of Scott Walker and the Republican Majority. They are proving over and over that they wish to serve ONLY the Corporations and the Wealthy. They TOOK AWAY your collective bargaining rights so that they could shift tax dollars to those WHO DO NOT need them. The tax dollars taken from our public schools is going to corporations in the form of MORE tax breaks, to fund private charter schools and ensure that the wealthy have to not pay their "fair share" of taxes for public services that they use everyday.
Do not hesitate, PLEASE REJOIN THE FIGHT!

Proposed Bill Could Weaken Wisconsin's Puppy Mill Laws | Care2 Causes
Holy "Puppy Mill" Batman... Wisconsin is wreathing with a serious of critical issues for everyday people and the Wisconsin Republicans feel that one of the ways to ease the many burdens on Wisconsinites is to reduce regulations and allow for "hobby" breeders to quadruple the current number of puppy's a hobby breeder could have of 25 to 100?
Batman, we must PROTECT THE PUPPY's from the "JOKER" (Wisconsin Republican Don Pridemore). You are correct "ROBIN", we need to protect these puppy's from the likes of Wisconsin's NEW EVIL, the Republican Majority. Quick... to the "BAT CAVE" so we can prepare our defenses for Wisconsin Puppy's and refocus the NEW EVIL onto something meaningful.

Chris Rickert: Can't blame WEAC for not trusting Walker on school accountability
Obviously, people think the Governor's request to have WEAC join him in reforming Wisconsin Education, was a VERY phony request. After all, how can Scott Walker have any good idea's to reform education when he strips nearly a billion dollars from Wisconsin Education and he himself does not even have a college degree. His ideas in many areas continue to be very poor ones and possibly it is do to the fact that he lacks a proper education.

‘No reason to trust governor’ - Beloit Daily News: Editorials
Nothing new here, Wisconsin citizens NOT TRUSTING WALKER, but it does seem that with every passing day the list of Wisconsin citizens and organizations that DO NOT TRUST WALKER continues to grow.

Capitol modified with net, but change to be scrapped - WXOW News 19 La Crosse, WI – News, Weather and Sports |
Again, the Administration overreacts and then attempts to fix their problem. This continued pattern of always making a "Mountain" out of a "mole hill" by this administration just plain gets tiring. This Administration needs to QUIT trying to always paint the citizens of Wisconsin as pathetic people and start spending more time in front of mirror and asking themselves, "how do I change this ugliness that I see before me?"
The recent decision of the "net" seems to be the architect of Jeff Plale, remember him, former Democratic State Senator, VOTED AGAINST THE TA's of the 2009-2011 State Employee Contracts and then hired by Scott Walker to work in his administration? Yep, that's right, it was that ugly Jeff Plale...
