Mark Green joins Thompson campaign team - JSOnline
Both Mark Green and Tommy Thompson have received the support of AFSCME Council 24 in years past. However, where are they today? Do they stand with Labor or do they stand with the Tea Party? In today's "Republican" world, caution would clearly be advised. Republicans today are proving that organized labor can no longer trust any of them.

Rescheduled DC March & Rally for the NEW MLK Memorial
From: President McEntee &. Sec-Treas Saunders [mailto:President_SecTreasurer@afscme.org]

Subject: DC March & Rally Commemorating the new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial
We wanted to notify you that the Washington, D.C. march and rally commemorating the new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial -- originally scheduled for Aug. 27 but postponed due to Hurricane Irene -- has been rescheduled for October 15.
Only four other Americans – George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Delano Roosevelt – have been given this honor: a national memorial on the hallowed grounds of our National Mall. As the first memorial to honor an African American, and the first to honor an individual who was never elected to high office, the memorial for Dr. King stands as a symbol of progress and purpose, dedicated to a man whose vision and courage transformed our nation and gave hope to the world.
The event, co-sponsored by AFSCME and the National Action Network and supported by other labor and civil and human rights groups, is being held one day before the official unveiling of the memorial on the National Mall. Specific information re: time of the rally, the route of the march and other details will be coming to you shortly.

WisPolitics.com: Wynn Campaign: Statement on 2012 elections
Absolutely outrageous thought on the part of a Republican. Now that some of the Democrats, written out of their "present" legislative districts by the Wisconsin Republicans, are being accused of only caring about keeping a job if they move a few blocks to challenge a Republican lawmaker. Wisconsin Republican lawmakers drastically changed the legislative district lines to merely protect their very own jobs.
State Representative Andy Jorgenson is clearly a better lawmaker than State Representative Evan Wynn and has a strong chance of easily defeating Rep. Wynn. That is the concern that Rep. Wynn has, he may lose his job to a more qualified lawmaker.

WisPolitics.com: Rep. Vos: Statement
Rep. Vos needs to take caution in his comments of labeling negative actions as being performed by "protesters". His message that he is implying is that ALL who speak out against certain lawmakers and the Administration are ALL in the same "protester category". The actions of lawmakers, like Rep. Vos, have attracted the attention of people from many different organizations with many different missions and with many different characteristics. In this latest incident it is reasonable to assume that it is possible that the individual who poured beer over the head of Rep. Vos may very likely be a "constituent" of his. So this will create the question, why would this individual be labelled as a "protester" and not a "constituent"? Maybe Rep. Vos should not quit ignoring the "constituent" and take 15 minutes of his time to listen to the "constituent".
One thing is clear, the individual who poured the beer over the head of Rep. Vos IS NOT from Labor and IS NOT a public employee even though many lawmakers have for months labelled all "protesters" as being from Labor or being a public employee. Protesters have been peaceful and are simply upset with the unfair and mean-spirited actions of lawmakers, like Rep. Vos and the entire Walker Administration.
SEPAC says to Rep. Vos, give this individual who poured beer over your head 15 minutes of your time. He may very likely be a constituent of yours who should not be ignored because you may not like to hear what he has to say.

New union certification rules take effect
AFSCME Council 24 does not plan at this time to comply with these unfair and unrealistic certification requirements. This process would be cost prohibitive. These new rules also require that the Union achieve 51% of the membership approval. It is important to note, the 51% is not 51% of the votes cast, it is achieving 51% of all eligible voters. Scott Walker would not be Governor today if he would had to achieve 51% of the total eleigible votes. AFSCME Council 24 will remain the Union representative of thousands of Wisconsin state employees.

Race Ratings: Wisconsin GOP Likely to Keep Majority : Roll Call Politics
Of course the Wisconsin GOP has the likely edge in the 2012 elections. They "re-wrote" the legislative district lines to ensure that all of the anger in Wisconsin being created by the Wisconsin GOP and Scott Walker, still had enough votes to win.
In addition to changing legislative district lines, the Wisconsin GOP has changed voting laws and now requires a strict voter ID. All tools for the GOP to ensure that their Governor is not recalled and that congressional and Wisconsin legislative races DO NOT go to Democrats.
There is only one thing that the Wisconsin GOP is incapable of changing and that is the ANGER of the voters caused by Scott Walker and the legislative Brothers of Scott and Jeff Fitzgerald.
While recent polling may show a 50/50 split amongst Wisconsin voters of recalling Scott Walker, today, everyday Scott Walker does or says something that refuels voter anger. They (Walker and the Fitzgerald's) are not smart enought to quit upsetting voters. They LOVE THEIR POWER and they misuse it on a regular basis.

GOP Reveals Depth of Voter-Exclusion Plan - Working In These Times
Is there even a shred of integrity amongst Wisconsin Republicans? It seems that almost on a daily basis some tidbit of news or some large chunk of news, such as the attempt to hide FREE ID's from Wisconsin voters, created by Wisconsin Republicans is revealed.

Stickers may make college IDs usable under state voter ID law - JSOnline
Until the Wisconsin Republicans found the serious need to disenfranchise as many Wisconsin voters as possible that "may not" vote for republicans, college photo ID's were widely accepted in Wisconsin. It was ridiculous that the Wisconsin Republicans changed the voting laws so they were no longer acceptable. Thanks to a responsible and fair Government Accountability Board, college ID's can now be used so long as they have affixed to them a valid "sticker" that will be used to validate the college photo ID.

This is just plain "horse pucky". Just who does Scott Walker really think he is. He is NO friend of good people. We have many issues in Wisconsin to fix and he is off running in the hills of Kentucky as some kind of martyr.

Walker protester honks off troopers - JSOnline
When the Governor disrupts the lives of so many and constantly demonstrates he does care of the affect of his actions on public employees and citizens of Wisconsin, just what does he expect?
Does anyone think that this employee will receive a fair and impartial investigation? We think not, we think it will smell of Republican Politics all over it.

State Supreme Court dispute may be tough to decide
So much upheaval that Justice David Prosser has created within the confines of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
The worst part is to think that a majority of Wisconsin Voters voted for this individual based on their partisan choosing rather than professional and moral conduct.

Wisconsin Legislature sets just one work day this month - JSOnline
Republicans lie and now they seem to be mastering the "blame" game. Republicans say they are focused on jobs, but blame the recalls for why they have not succeeded. Speaker Fitzgerald is even setting blame for their future "jobs" failure on his anticipation of even more recall elections in January.
Just plain pathetic, the Republicans have no good ideas for jobs and they will not make any attempt to work with Democrats. Of the over 350 legislative amendments introduced in the legislature this session by Democrats, the Republicans have adopted ONLY "ONE". It is very clear that the Republicans have ideas that do not work for Wisconsin so it is about time that they begin to accept some of the Democrats legislative amendments or bring the Democrats to the table in the beginning in order to jointly craft a good and strong piece of legislation, whether it be for the creation of jobs, the funding of schools and medicaid or the economic security for our seniors.
Quit kneeling before Imperial Walker and start working toward the demands of the majority of the people of Wisconsin.
