U.S. Senator Johnson is a millionaire. He is calling for changes to social security that address raising the retirement age and the benefits provided and he says no one wants to talk about those things.
What he IS NOT talking about and the rich DO NOT want to talk about is raising the income cap for contributing to social security. As it stands right now, social security taxes are paid on ONLY the first $104,000, or a figure in that area, of income. Millionaire's like Sen. Johnson benefit greatly from that cap. Raising that cap would greatly enhance, if not eliminate altogether, any concerns with social security solvency. Ask U.S. Senator Johnson WHY HE WILL NOT talk about that reform to strengthen social security for decades to come.
