Madison Politiscope: Ed Schultz becomes cable TV's champion of Wisconsin workers

…. Later in his recent visit, Schultz and his crew walked over to Cooper’s to shoot the promo ad. They were greeted by a group of local AFSCME picketers, as well as Madison radio host, John “Sly” Sylvester of WTDY’s “Sly in the Morning.” The group was protesting Schultz’s use of Cooper’s Tavern for his shoot, since the bar is part of Food Fight, a restaurant group that AFSCME has feuded with ever since it began operating an eatery at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery on the UW-Madison campus. … Schultz walked outside and talked to the protesters. To his staff’s great relief, the group was apparently not interested in disrupting the shoot. They simply wanted him and others to be informed of the grievances they had against Food Fight.
