AFSCME Council 24 Union Information Network

Have you recommitted to your union? Have you taken action to protect yourself from the Scott Walker juggernaut? Have you made that necessary investment in your career, future, and your families’ economic survival? Have you stepped up to the plate to state that Scott Walker is not going to intimidate or bully me? Now is the time.

State workers need to recommit to their union. Send a clear message to Walker and his minions that you are not afraid, you won’t be intimidated, and you will continue to have a voice speaking out loudly against him and his right-wing agenda. Your supervisor will not speak out for you; your administrator will not speak out; your Department Secretaries will not speak out; the Wardens will not speak out; and legislators certainly will not speak out for you. The only protection you have is your union.

Your union continues speaking out. We continue filing legal actions to protect you. Your union continues to fight the battle. You need to support your union. The decision is easy – do you support Scott Walker, or do you support the working middle class? If you support Scott Walker, then don’t recommit – and good luck. But if you support the middle class and support changing Wisconsin back to a State of fairness, dignity and respect, then you will support your union. Recommitting to your union is easy – just visit http://www.wseu-24.org/ and in the upper left locate “Click here to Join the Fight” where you can then make a decision about how you will pay your union dues.

We understand that times may be tough, but these times will get even more devastating if you allow Scott Walker to continue running roughshod over your rights and your economic security. The time to act is now. Once you think about it, we know all of you will decide to recommit to your union.
