How a bill now becomes a law

"Laws begin as ideas. These ideas may come from a Representative—or from a citizen like you." So says the Kids in the House website managed by the U.S. House clerk's office. Ideas for new laws can indeed emanate from citizens or their elected representatives, but nowadays they are far more frequently coming from a corporate-funded bill mill called ALEC.
