Senate Dems announce recall candidates

Senate Dems today announced three current or former lawmakers that will challenge GOP senators in potential recall elections.

Rep. Donna Seidel, D-Wausau, will challenge Sen. Pam Galloway, also of Wausau; former Rep. Kristen Dexter, D-Eau Claire, will take on Sen. Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls; and former Sen. John Lehman, D-Racine, will seek a rematch of his 2010 race against Sen. Van Wanggaard.

Senate Majority Leader Mark Miller, D-Monona, is set to announce the candidates at an event later this evening at the Monona Terrace.

"With the announcement today of Kristin Dexter, Donna Seidel and John Lehman as candidates to replace Walker's blindly loyal lieutenants, Democrats are poised to complete the job of taking back the Senate which was begun last spring," said state Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate in a statement.

State GOP spokesman Ben Sparks responded in a statement that the challengers are "nothing more than conveyor belt Democrats who boast records of fiscal catastrophe."

A definite candidate to run against Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, has yet to emerge.
